Cold Blood Club
Cold Blood Club
Cold Blood Club, a magnetic new outfit out of Brooklyn, has been chewing up the New York indie scene one packed venue at a time since they debuted their blend of soul, rock and pop in the spring of 2011.

Inspired by acts like LCD Soundsystem, Metric and New Order, songwriter/guitarist Tom Stuart (Radio America) started a small, 4-person studio project with newcomer Kendra Jones and Bradley Peterson (Earlymay) as lead vocals and former band mate Jesse Reno (Radio America) on bass. After only a handful of promising shows, CBC quickly evolved into the well-matched 7-piece showstopper they are today—joined by agile drummer Shin Kamei (Angela Jane), flame-haired violinist Hilary Davis (Bella Koshka) and classically trained pianist Adina Benno on synth.

In the follow-up to their 2012 EP Release, Headlines and Firefights, Cold Blood Club has just returned with a new single and music video for the song "Goodbye to All That." The song is an open love letter to New York City, friendship, heartbreak and making peace with the past. The band's creator and songwriter Tom Stuart penned the evocative tune as he struggled with balancing the aimlessness of finding a place to live, a thriving nightlife, and a tumultuous personal life. "We danced all night, we danced all year…" Stuart sings against a vibrant backdrop of slick city streets, moody dive bars and rowdy karaoke clubs, wrapping us up in a feeling of timelessness that lingers in our hair and clothes like cigarette smoke for days. It's the party that lasts all night, and a glimpse into the friendship, reinforced by a shared love of the city, that holds the band together.

"'Goodbye to All That' is thick with claps, breaks, builds and jangly guitar goodness needed to start a party. It has a Shout Out Louds feel to it with transitions into Brit-pop happy pants jams." - austintownhall.com

Marathon
Marathon
Somewhere in the spectrum of experimental indie-rock, there lies Marathon: a style-blending, genre-bending outfit from Central Pennsylvania dedicated to creating music which pushes the envelope. Technically proficient, Marathon boasts stellar guitar work both in layering and in lead, with drumming that is both non-intrusive and interesting—even unorthodox at times. Dual vocalists Zach and Erich strike a unique balance between a warm, whisper-like voice and a yearning, more tonal singing that soars achingly over the landscape below—a landscape which is colored with effects and programming, yet neither cluttered nor distracting. Atmospheric and ambient, yet poignant and raw at just the right moments, Marathon has a vastness of sound without pretension and with unparalleled maturity for such a young band.
