Summer Scouts
Summer Scouts
Summer Scouts is a 5-piece Indie Rock band from Allentown, PA. The band infuses an eclectic mix of pop sensibilities with a tinge of post-rock dynamics to cast a signature sound that is both anthemic and intimately heartfelt. (FFO: Lydia, M83, Silver Sun Pickups, Paramore).

It was in the teachers lounge of a suburban Philadelphia high school where former Hey Angel guitarist/biology teacher Dave Adoff finally convinced art teacher Marilyn McCauley to share her songs with him.

McCauley had long told her friend she wrote songs on piano and guitar, but only really sang by herself at home.

They began writing songs together and Adoff enlisted his buds, bass player Dan Gross (None More Black) and Brendan Hill (Hey Angel, The Curse) to play drums. In January 2015, after nearly a year practicing in Hill’s garage and shaping their sound, Jackie Thousand recorded their debut EP, The Usual Order, with Pete Steinkopf at his Little Eden Studio in Asbury Park, NJ.

Steinkopf, the Bouncing Souls guitarist, co-produced the record with musician Dave Hause. The solo artist and former Loved Ones frontman is a longtime friend of the band who many moons ago played in hardcore band Step Ahead with Adoff and Hill.
Josh Alvarez
Josh Alvarez has contributed to the Philadelphia music scene steadily over the past decade. His talents have been showcased in varied and diverse acts over the years, from epic post rock to 90's alterna-worship to riffy hardcore. He brings to the intimate setting of the side chapel his latest incarnation, simple singer / songwriter ballads and odes. Although sonically removed from his recent, more aggressive endeavors, the same thread of heart and passion can still be found here in each note and strum. Drawing from an eclectic stable of influences, Josh plays songs about the things that he loves and hates in honest and direct tones.
