"TRIBU BAHARU is an afro-champeta music crew from the Colombian caribbean, they are influenced by the "Pico" (sound system) a culture with a trayectory of more than 6 decades in the caribbean, specially in Barranquilla and Cartagena. They play "live" without loosing the particular performance of the "sound system" scene that you can see inside the "Verbena" dances (neighborhoods popular party).

The Champeta, a term that refers to a knife used by fishermen to remove fish scales. Champeta is a fishermen music and its main influences come from the colombian folk music, Soukous (congo), Soweto, Zouk, Calipso, Soca, Compa Haitiano and reggae.

TRIBU BAHARU's main objective is to convey the joy of being caribbean throught the dance using music as a vehicle

TRIBU BAHARU begins in 2009, when a group of friends with Afro-Caribbean affinity begins to meet with the intention of making music to move the skeleton. Between one rehersal to another songs started to come up with jolly, joyful, danceable, spicy and tasty lyrics."
